Background

Jackson Heights School opened in September 2002 and serves kindergarten to grade six students. The majority of students live within Jackson Heights neighbourhood boundaries.   Jackson Heights School has the capacity to accommodate 300 students. The addition of portable classrooms or up to two, four classroom pods attached to the core facility will serve to increase capacity of the school if future enrolment warrants.

The school's certificated staff is composed of the principal, a library media specialist, a music specialist, a special needs lead teacher, and thirteen classroom teachers. Support staff include an administrative assistant, a library technician, a teacher assistant, a head custodian and lunch supervisors.
